Technical Photography

Micro, Macro, High Speed, & Focus Stacking.

I have over 40 years of medical photography specializing in the eye. A few of the images here are decades old but innovative at the time.

In 1978 I began my career as an ophthalmic photographer. In the early 80’s I expanded my focus to medical photojournalism to include some of the medical issues from homelessness and conflicts.

The medical division of Canon USA, which provided digital imaging equipment to my employer at the time. The top left image was a digital image taken in the 80’s and processed with the Mega Vision system. The image below is of the backside of a human iris. And I was able to do some experimentation with Landsat satellite software and retinal images.

The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 privacy standards went into effect privacy standards went into effect most of my collection of medical photography, ceased.

However, I have continued to work on macro and micro photography techniques adding high speed and focus stacking.
