Environmental Portraits
My name is Michael McCray, and I registered the tradename Iris Imaging with the State of Ohio in 1992. The business was started to provide a variety photographic services to ophthalmologists in Northern Ohio. Over the next decade it grew and offered a number of internet services, digital video services along with an expansion of services to nonprofit organizations and businesses outside of the medical field. My photography prior to Iris Imaging is copyrighted under my name.
I attended Kent State University School of Journalism for Photo-illustration and became interested in photojournalism.
My education was paid for with a small monthly stipend through the GI Bill (US Army Infantry) and working a wide variety of jobs in a number of industries.
A great deal of my photojournalism has revolved around social issues and the work has generated wide political support here and overseas. My technical photography has been centered on academic interest beyond traditional photography.
